The ANIMATE system has been designed in a way to avoid long 24V cables. All cables suffer voltage drop due to resistance in the wires within, and this resistance increases as the wires get thinner. We therefore recommend when using the supplied GST08 cables to connect elements of the ANIMATE collection the maximum combined cable length from a Power Supply Unit is 10 feet. The compact size of the Power Supply Unit (PSU) allows them to be used locally, minimizing the 24V cable length and maximizing efficiency.
